Call for Applications: Master of Social Science in Development Studies

The College of Arts and Social Sciences, through the School of Social, Political and Administrative Sciences wishes to inform interested candidates of the 5th intake of the Master of Social Science in Development Studies programme. This Masters Degree has a strong focus on enhanced development capacity and professional development skills. It is designed as a three-semester taught program with a final 4th semester for researched Thesis. It will be taught evenings and/or weekends in Kigali, and in Huye if student numbers are sufficient.

CORE MODULES are mandatory for all, and include:

● Public Policy Analysis and Management
● Poverty and Policy Analysis
● Research Techniques and Analysis

OPTIONAL MODULES are selected by class vote, but can only proceed if participant numbers in a particulare module are sufficient. Options include:

● Governance and Democracy, Development Sociology
● Human Rights, Development and Social Justice
● Project Planning and Management
● Public-Private Partnerships
● ICT for Development
● Education and Health in Development
● International Economics
● Museums and Heritage Development
● Financial Management
● Quantitative Research Methods
