You are invited to The Social Good Summit which is taking place today ,28th September 2015 at UR Huye Campus, Main Auditorium from 3:00 to 5: 00pm.
The theme is "The Sustainable Development Goals”
The SDGs are comprised of 17 goals which emerge from extensive consultation on the shortcomings and successes of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) amongst all stakeholders, with a focus on developing communities. They fall within 5 pillars: people, planet, prosperity, partnerships and peace. With the UN and commitment of 193 world leaders, the SDGs aim to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and fix climate change by 2030.
Summit participants will support the SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, by #tellingeveryone. In order for the Global Goals to work, everyone must know about them. From members of government and NGOs to villagers in every corner of Rwanda, the SDGs are universal goals to set Rwandan on a path of sustainable development to transform the country in just 15 years.
The purpose of this summit is to launch the Sustainable Development Goals, facilitate nationwide awareness and support for the SDGs, and discuss how the SDGs may be realized in Rwanda.
